Overview
Kulunia is a high-end fragrance brand centered around the idea
of scent as a form of identity and expression.
The project explores how fragrance branding can feel both luxurious and culturally grounded,
drawing inspiration from Middle Eastern influences while maintaining a modern, minimal aesthetic.
The goal was to create a brand that feels refined and intentional,
but still visually distinct from traditional luxury fragrance brands.
Rather than relying on overly ornate or generic luxury visuals, Kulunia focuses on strong typography,
controlled color palettes, and symbolic design elements to communicate its identity.
The branding balances elegance with personality, allowing each fragrance to feel unique yet still part of a cohesive system.
From the bottle design to the packaging and advertisements,
every element is designed to feel deliberate and connected.
A major part of the project was developing individual fragrance lines
that each tell their own story while still fitting within the larger Kulunia brand.
These lines explore different moods, environments, and emotional experiences through both scent and visual design.
Scents
Arctic Haze
The design leans into icy tones, frosted textures, and clean, minimal visuals
to reflect the sharpness and clarity of the fragrance.
Elements like cool blues, metallic accents, and mist-like backgrounds
help reinforce the idea of crisp air and frozen landscapes.
The overall feeling is calm, controlled, and slightly mysterious,
capturing the sensation of standing in a quiet, frozen environment.
Orbit of Saturn
Orbit of Saturn takes a completely different direction,
focusing on warmth, depth, and a sense of luxury.
Inspired by space and celestial imagery, this fragrance blends darker tones with rich,
glowing accents to create a more intense and atmospheric identity.
Notes like cinnamon, honey, and tobacco are reflected
in the warm color palette and layered visual textures.
The design feels immersive and slightly dramatic,
evoking the idea of movement, gravity, and being surrounded by something larger than yourself.
By the Bayside
By the Bayside is designed to feel bright, relaxed, and nostalgic.
Inspired by coastal environments and summer energy,
this fragrance uses lighter tones, vibrant accents, and playful elements to create a more approachable and uplifting identity.
The visuals incorporate warm sunlight, soft textures, and tropical references,
giving it a laid-back but still polished feel.
Compared to the other lines, this one is more casual and expressive,
capturing the feeling of being near the water on a warm day.
Concept
